Wedding Map Details

With each map I create I try to include as much detail as the customer requires, to enable as much information within the design. This can include a colour scheme, flowers, a drawing of the venue or church, local landmarks or subjects and the date, names and postcode of evening venue. I am happy to make the image full and busy or neat and simple depending on the wedding theme.
Here are some close ups of detail within the maps I have created so far, to give you an idea of how I go about creating a piece.

Newest Wedding Map :)

This will be the 3rd official map I have created for a wedding now, with the idea of the map to be placed inside the wedding invites for guests to use as means of finding their way to the church/venue/reception.....and to take home as a keep sake of the couples special day.
I am planning on setting up a website in the new year for my Wedding Map Designs as I hope to create more for couples who are planning their big day.

Falmouth Christmas Festival!

I will be holding a stall at the magnificent Falmouth Christmas Festival this year on Events Square.

December 15th - 18th

Come along and join in the festivities the weekend before Christmas......
Local crafts, food and Christmas fun!

*NEW* Button Cards!

A slight take on the buttons I have been creating, nice for a change (especially when making 6 of each - only one of each for these!) I have so far designed 'Merry Christmas' and 'Thank You' cards, but more in the making for when the Christmas season is up :)

Currently being sold at Crowan Crafts in Crowan, Cornwall.

Each card is a mini card, with envelope in a cellophane package.

A Homemade Christmas Advent Calendar.....

My niece Elsie is now 2 and a half....old enough to join her big brother in having an advent calendar to count down the days to Christmas! Seeing as though I made Toms advent calendar it was only fair I made her one too....here are the results: (think I may be making some of these to sell for next year!?!)

A blast from the past :)

Me, my dad, my mum, my big sister, my grandad and my great grandad! :)

The Nutcracker Ballet

Last weekend me and my sisters were treated by our mum to watch The Nutcracker, performed by the Moscow Ballet. It was beautiful, and made me want to dance again. I was a ballerina for 14 years and watching the dancers really made me wish I'd continued!

I decided whilst watching the performance that I need to put pointe ballet shoes on my Christmas wish list!

I just dug out some prints I created at university, inspired by my love for ballet, I must get these framed and hung up :)

one craft fair, two craft fair, three craft fair, four...

I recently had a stall at a local craft fair, a local primary school called Trannack. it was their first ever craft fair and it was very successful. I shared my stall with my sister Melody Ryder, a very talented textile designer. Between us we had a very colourful, varied stall consisting of my buttons, calendars and cards and her bunting and felt lamps.

(a bad quality pic from my phone, I've misplaced my lovely camera)

This was the first craft fair I have actually done on my own, and I feel it went very well, and was an enjoyable experience. I would love to make our stall look even prettier next time with plenty more stock and a pretty tablecloth....but these are details and I can work on these.

My other sister Emslie Mills, is a freelance make up artist and beauty therapist and she holds a stall at craft fairs selling a local, organic skincare product.

My mum is a Childrens Knitwear designer and will also be involved in selling her wonderful knitted hats and bears at these events. She has been a successful knitwear designer for many years, and he gorgeous designs can be found in shops in London, Bath and Cornwall. you can now buy online @ Knicky Knitwear, or check out her Facebook page to see what she's up to!

CRAFT FAIRs we will be selling at in the future:

* Crowan Crafts, Crowan, Cornwall. 29th Nov - 10th Dec 2011
* Events Square, Falmouth. Dates TBC
* Constantine Fair, Cornwall. Dates TBC
* Godolphin School, Cornwall Dates TBC

Wedding Cupcakes

I was asked by Steve and Emily to design and make 100 cupcakes for their wedding. I got my sister on board as she is cupcake queen and I knew I wouldn't be able to do it without her! I decided on the colour theme of pastel shades, combined with pretty decorations such as the butterflies. I also added Haribo hearts, White Chocolate Stars and sugarcraft Roses to create fun and unusual cakes. We were a cupcake making machine for a day and we were both really happy with the results! It has really inspired me to make more....you could go mad with colours and decorations! They fitted in perfectly with the theme of the wedding, especially complimenting the sweet peas; as you can see.....

Beautiful :)

The Month of Weddings!

One of my closest friends and my sisters step sister in law(!) were the beautiful brides, and I was lucky enough to be involved on their special day, in a special way. I was a bridesmaid to one, and a cup cake designer to the other, also a Wedding Map designer to both. Here are a few of my favourite snap shots of the two days. I will be posting again about the Cupcakes, so watch this space! :)

Helford River Card designs.....

I have designed some cards for my friend who is opening a shop next week on the Helford River, Cornwall. Here are my initial designs, but I am hoping to create a few more. Each card has been handmade so they vary slightly, which makes them unique.
