'Peacocks' (incomplete...)

I'm currently working on this piece, initially inspired by the vibrant Peacock colours.  I like the way the feathers join together in the middle section.  I'm not totally happy with the colours, as I don't feel they are bright enough to represent the peacocks, but I think I will have another attempt at this piece and experiment with a different palette.
I'm pleased with the pattern layout though.

My most recent most favourite painting...

'BUTTERFLIES' 08

I designed this piece last year, inspired by a magazine which had beautiful photographs of delicate butterflies on the front page, it was the colour that caught my attention - I LOVE colour!

I think I would like to try and add something about how I create my paintings, as there is quite a technique to them, which is very time consuming but very satisfying....
When I next sit down to design a new piece I will keep a record of each step (or at least the most interesting parts of the process!)

This is the first time I have ever done anything like this so you will have to bear with me while I get used to adding photos etc.

I am currently sat in a VERY quiet gallery in the depths of Cornwall in St. Ives, its chucking it outside and there's no one about - I don't really blame them, its truley horrid out there!  A proper British January grey day :(

I graduated from University in 2007, then went travelling to Australia and New Zealand with my boyfriend for 9 months which was a fantastic experience!
I found myself being inspired by the culture and surroundings on a regular basis, and have plans to include a lot of these inspirations in my newer work.

So I hope that I can use this blog as a sort of diary of my creative work, post travelling and studying....
